Full flow 3" ABS gate valve adapts
to 3" ABS male or female bolt on specific flange fittings. Can be adapted
to most pipe sizes with proper fittings and space requirements. Special seals
required for sealing between valve and flanges. Gate opens/closes in less
than 2 seconds. Indicator light for open or closed position sensing available.
DPDT momentary switch is necessary
for reversing polarity to motor, can also be controlled with relays and timing
circuits. Low pressure (4 psi) applications for transfer of water, air, or
vacuum.
Equipped with manual override for emergency opening or closing.
ELECTRICAL
Dedicated fused 5 amp circuit
Wiring (20 gauge minimum)
Momentary DPDT Switch
Voltage-12 VDC, reversing polarity through pre-wired switch
No load current 1.5 amps, full load current 3.5 amps, locked rotor 5.5 amps.
LED OPERATION
Reed switch activated
with magent. Max current - 1/2 AMP.
For gate positioning - fully open or fully closed.
PLUMBING
Valve Installation - good plumbing practices must be followed. Piping should
be installed in such a way that the valve is not put in a bind. Access to the
valve is necessary for use of manual override and valve replacement when
necessary. The valve should have clearance all around. When gluing near valve,
care must be taken not to get glue on the gate. All piping must be properly
supported. The valve cannot support the piping.
SEALS
The seals are Buna N with
graphite additive to enhance lubrication through the life of the seal.
Only seals supplied with Valve-Ster will work with the valve - DO NOT use
any OTHERS.
Proper placement on the flanges and lubrication with Dow Corning 111 are necessary.
MECHANICAL OPERATION
A series of gears allow for a 50:1 gera reduction, developing the necessary torque.
A manual override is accessible from either side of the valve. It is located within the dome area.
To activate override, a 1/8” allen wrench is needed. There are directional arrows for
open/close. Gate is fully opened or closed with a turn and a half on the hex head. The hex head is
anodized aluminum and can be damaged if improperly used.
MATERIALS
ABS plastic, aluminum, stainless steel, acetal, brass, Buna N. anodized aluminum.
LUBRICATION
Dow Corning 111
